MACDONALD, LEONARD GORDON - The death of Mr. Leonard Gordon MacDonald, husband of Mary Alphonsine (Vienneau) MacDonald of Miramichi and formerly of Saint John, NB, occurred on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 77. Born in Sillikers, NB, he was the son of the late John and Rena (Stewart) MacDonald. Leonard lived in Saint John for 44 years and retired from the City of Saint John. Besides his wife: Mary, Leonard is survived by: daughter in law: Jackie MacDonald of Saint John, NB; three sisters: Helen Matchett of Sunny Corner, NB; Irene MacKenzie (Art) of Sillikers, NB; Doris Boudreau of Sunny Corner, NB; three brothers: Henry of Sillikers, NB; Harry (Heather) of Douglastown, NB; Bervel (Laura) Newcastle, NB; two grandchildren: Christopher & Candace; two great grandchildren: Tyler & Rylee and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leonard is predeceased by: son: Joseph David; one sister: Edna Rolfe; six brothers: Frank, Jackie, Joseph, Bernie, Ralph & Angus. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Chatham on Friday at 1 PM with The Reverend Gordon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Chatham, NB.
