ROBERT ANSTIS

ANSTIS, ROBERT - The death of Robert Anstis widower of the late Elizabeth (Hetherington) Anstis occurred on Tuesday October 14, 2008 at The Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Robert was born to the late Herbert and Ruth (Forrester) Anstis in Birmingham, England on March 8, 1921. The family emigrated to Canada in 1931 and settled in Midland, N.B. Robin served in the Canadian Army during the 2nd World War. Subsequently he completed Pharmaceutical training and over the years was employed by Walsh's, Wassons, McLean Matthews, Shoppers and Superstore pharmacies. His retirement years were greatly enhanced by the companionship of his beloved dog, Diamond. Robert is survived by one son Ross (Karen) Anstis of Fredericton; one sister Ruthie (Lloyd) Fullerton of Saint John; grandchildren Daniel, Leah and Juli Anstis; great grandson Ryley and one niece Susan McLean (Edward). Besides his parents and wife Elizabeth, Robert was predeceased by brothers William and John Anstis and one sister Margaret Williams. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). At the families request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, on Sunday October 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Midland Cemetery. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA, Animal Rescue League or to the charity of the donor's choice.
