MARY STEWART BAILLY (SIME)
BAILLY (SIME), MARY STEWART - Passed away peacefully on October 17, 2008, at her home in Halifax. Born in Saint John, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Robert Stevens and Mary Stewart Sime. Mary was employed with the Department of Public Works for 35 years, retiring in 1972 as a department manager. During her career and in retirement she enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She was active in the IODE, the Zonta Club and The Canadian Club. She greatly enjoyed meeting with and hosting her friends over a friendly bridge game in her home and at the Saraguay Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Bailly, whose companionship, family and friends she thoroughly enjoyed during their years together in Lunenburg. She was also predeceased by her brother, Stewart Sime (1986) and her nephew, John Sime (1967). Mary is survived by her niece, Susan (Dennis) Francis, Ottawa, and her nephew, Robert (Anne Marie) Sime, Halifax; grandnieces, Debra (Ben) Farmer and Andrea Francis, Ottawa and grand- nephews, Steven (Lynn) Francis, London, Ont. and John, Michael and Iain Sime, all of Halifax. She is also survived by four great-grandnieces and one great-grandnephew. Great appreciation and respect is offered to the personal care workers Dena, Marion, Barbara, and Charlotte, under the direction of Cathy Stone. Together, they filled Mary's last few years and days with love and kindness. In addition, appreciation is given to Dr. John (Jack) Graham for his care and personal attention. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 23, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot, Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, N.B. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
