EATON, WINNIFRED - At the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on October 27, 2008, Mrs. Winnifred (Sirles) Eaton, wife of the late Wesley B. Eaton, formerly of Fairhaven, Deer Island NB. Born at Lords Cove NB on September 22, 1916, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Sirles. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by two sons; Dennis and his wife Audrey Eaton of Kingston NS and Greg and his wife Lana Eaton of Ajax ON, five grandchildren; William, Matthew, Sara, Lori, Joanna and her husband Rev. Jonathan Thompson, one great granddaughter, Hannah, two sisters; Marjorie Morton and Frances "Pauline" Hooper both of Portland ME and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Wesley, Winnifred was predeceased by one brother, Arthur Sirles and by one sister, Mildred McKenny. Prior to her retirement, Winnifred was employed by H.W. Welch & Son, Deer Island, where she worked as a labeler. She loved spending her spare time with family. She was a member of the Fairhaven United Baptist Church, Fairhaven NB. The family would like to thank the staff at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB for their constant care and friendship towards their mother. You will always be remembered for the kindness you have shown. Resting at the Fairhaven United Baptist Church, Deer Island NB, from where the service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating. Visiting at the church will take place on Sunday from 4 - 8 pm. In Winnifred's memory, donations to the Fairhaven United Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Family flowers only please.
