WAYNE D. COURTNEY

COURTNEY, WAYNE D. - The death of Wayne D. Courtney, loving husband of Sharon (Keating) Courtney, of Milkish Creek occurred unexpectedly at home on Wednesday October 29, 2008. Born 1945 in Saint John he was the son of the late John Edward and Dorothy Emily (Getson) Courtney. Wayne worked as a steel worker for Saint John Shipbuilding for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a lifetime member of Local 3, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 62 Moss Glen. Besides his loving wife Sharon of 39 years, he is survived by sons Gregory (Jacqueline) of Calgary and Jeffrey (Tracy Craft) of Milkish Creek; grandchildren Joshua, Jennifer and Braydon Courtney and step grandson Chad Craft; brothers Roy (Mary Lynn) of Moncton and Douglas (Susie Palmer) of Milkish Creek; sister Joan Randon of Rothesay; aunt Joy Cannon of PEI; uncle Ralph Getson of Dryden, ON; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by daughter-in-law Kim. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.A Legion tribute service will be held Sunday at 7pm. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday November 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Harding Point Cemetery.
