MERRITT, DONNA H. - The death of Donna H. Merritt of Bloomfield, wife of Reginald Merritt occurred October 31, 2008 at the QEII Hospital, Halifax. She was born in Saint John, daughter of the late Cyril and Mona (McCullough) Beckett. Donna was an optician at McAdam Optical and Shorney's Optical, Sussex before retiring three years ago. She enjoyed skiing, gardening, spending time in the woods and her camp. Donna loved her dog "Shadow". She is survived by her husband, Reg; mother and father-in-law, Nancy and Walker Merritt, Upham; two brothers, Robert Beckett, Ontario, Jimmy Beckett (Wendy), Fredericton; sisters-in-law, Debbie Merritt, Saint John, Laurel Penney (Greg), St. John's, NL; one brother-in-law, Richard Merritt (Melissa), Calgary; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home, (832-5541) 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held Tuesday, 11am, at St. Peter's Church, Upham.
