WAYNE PETER GOGAN

GOGAN, WAYNE PETER - It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Peter Wayne Gogan of Saint John, which occured unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday,November 17, 2008. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Joseph and Olive (Wilson) Gogan. Peter was employed with the Saint John Shipyard for many years as a crane operator. He ventured out West where he continued his trade as an operator until returning to Saint John and was employed with Trecartin Wholesale. On his route he was known for his quirky sense of humor and delivered smiles as well as merchandise. Peter again returned to the construction trade and was employed in the Point Lepreau expansion phase and was a member of local union #946. Peter is survived by, his wife, Norma (Ouellette), son, Scott and his wife Natalie (Richard) Gogan and grandson Sebastien; daughter, Angela and grandson Ben who spent many hours in the truck with his "Papa", also surviving, brother, Richard and his wife Shirley of Halifax; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Peter took great pride in his work as well as his family, he enjoyed spending time by the ocean and also enjoyed photography. Peter was the type of man who you could count on when you needed a hand. One of his greatest prides was watching the success of his family. Resting at Castle Funeral Home "Fallsview Chapel" 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John West, where visitation will be held 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2008. At the request of the family a private ceremony will be held at a later date. Donations in Peter's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
