HELEN GILMOUR STEPHENSON
STEPHENSON, HELEN GILMOUR - Helen Stephenson, born in Saint John, NB in 1938, died at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 22, 2008. She is survived by three sisters, her identical twin, Claire (Duncan Fidler) London, ON, Nancy (Bob Benn) Fredericton, and Peggy Stephenson (Westfield); and by her niece, Tara Fidler; and nephews, Stephen and Jeffrey (Chris) Fidler, Peter (Jennie), David (Jill) and Andrew (Csilla) Benn. Helen is predeceased by her parents, Alfred E. Stephenson and Margaret Jenks (Gilmour) Stephenson. Helen is a graduate of Mount Allison University (BA, Bed) and Syracuse University (MSc in Library Science). She was a librarian with the Detroit and London Public Libraries. Helen was actively involved in First St. Andrew's United Church in London, Ontario. In Westfield, she was an active volunteer at Centenary-Queen Square United Church, Westfield Elementary School and CQS Day Cares and an outstanding fundraiser for Skate-to-Care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Donaldson Uhryniw on November 26 at 11:30 am at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A reception to follow at Centenary-Queen Square United Church, 215 Wentworth St., Saint John, NB, E2L 2T4.
