DORIS BERTHA COBHAM
COBHAM, DORIS BERTHA - The death of Mrs. Doris B. Cobham, wife of the late William F. "Buster" Cobham, formerly of Saint John, occurred at the Kings Way Care Centre on November 22, 2008. Born in Saint John on January 30,1916, she was the daughter of the late George Henry and Margaret (Peacock) Evans. Doris lived in Calgary for 22 years, where she received a commendation for knitting numerous mittens for less fortunate children over the years. She was a very generous and caring lady. She returned to Saint John in 1996. Mrs. Cobham worked at M.R.A.'s for many years. Her loving family remembers her great cooking, especially lemon meringue and pumpkin pies. She is survived by her two daughters; Fran (Darrel) Cosman of Quispamsis, and Betty (Bill) Muir of Rothesay; one sister Violet Matheson of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Sharon (John) Batten, Brenda (Terry) Sevenson, Timothy (Lynn) Muir, Kimberley Muir, Melinda (Steven) Bennett, Leanne (Jim) Ellis, and Scott (Mika) Crosby. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her grandson David Muir, brother Robert Evans, and sisters Florence Cox, Margaret Souther, and Connie Cromwell. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home (634-1701), 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West. Visiting at Castle "Fallsview" on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m, and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Fallsview Chapel on Thursday at 2 pm. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family. Interment in Old Cedar Hill Cemetery.
