SHERWOOD, GLADYS MAE - The death of Gladys Mae Sherwood of Upperton, widow of Stewart J. Sherwood occurred November 25, 2008 at Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John, daughter of the late George and Olga (Walker) Hanson. Gladys enjoyed playing cards, dancing to fiddle music and going for drives. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Bevans (David), Upham, Phyllis Johnston (Travis), Upperton; one son, Vaughan Sherwood (Mary), Upperton; daughter-in-law, Linda Sherwood, Upperton; two sisters, Doris Olsen, Cassidy Lake, Wendy Bach, Poodiac; one brother Lloyd Hanson (Juanita), Sussex; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Gordon Sherwood; granddaughter, Marilyn Bevans; great granddaughter, Ashley Bevans; sisters, O. Parn McKay, Greta Snodgrass; and brothers, Gordon and Bill Hanson. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation 2-4pm & 7-9pm Wednesday. The funeral will be held Thursday, 11:00 am, at St. Peter's Church, Upham with Rev. Marian Lucas-Jefferies officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Memorials to Alzheimer Society, St. Peter's Church or donor's choice would be appreciated.
