MATTHEWS, BESSIE HELEN - Peacefully at her residence, with family at her side, Mrs. Bessie Helen (Brown) Matthews, wife of Mr. Earl W. Matthews of Pennfield NB. Born at Doaktown NB, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Ida (Storey) Brown. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by her husband Earl, one son, Terry (Janice) Matthews of Lepreau NB, one daughter, Nancy Marlene (Andrew) Wishart of St. Stephen NB, four grandchildren; Amy ( Arron)McVicar of Lepreau, Eric and Abby Matthews also of Lepreau and Conan Graham of St. Stephen, two great grandchildren; Ayden and Carter, one sister, Bertha Farquharson of Fredericton NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Bessie had worked for a number of years at Connor's Bros. at Blacks Harbour NB as a Packer and prior to her retirement was employed by Canada Post as a Postal Clerk where she had worked for 17 years. She enjoyed watching her TV programs, shopping at Frenchy's and doing puzzles. Resting at the Calvary Baptist Church, Blacks Harbour NB, from where the service will be held on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating, followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Monday from 10 am until 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bessie's memory to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
