SPLUDE, DAVID - The death of David Splude of Upham, husband of Joan (McKinney) Hope occurred December 1, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. He was born in Dalhousie, son of the late Benoit and Jean (Goodin) Splude. In his earlier years, David was engaged in farming and lumbering. He then worked for V.E. Falkjar and Sons Upholstery retiring in 1997. David enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets and he was an avid clock collector. He is survived by his wife Joan; four children, Michael Splude (Keri Steeves), Saint John, NB, Mark Splude (Jaymee), Peterborough, ON, Ernie Hope (Krista), Upperton, NB, Dawn Mailman (Harold), Titusville, NB; one sister, Dianne LeBlanc (Eric), ON; one brother, John Splude "Lucky" (Bernadine), NS; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation 2-4pm & 7-9pm Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church, Hampton on Friday at 10:00am. Interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Memorials to Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
