OLDFIELD, HELEN ELIZABETH - The death of Helen Elizabeth Oldfield, wife of Burton Emerson Oldfied, occurred on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born in Saint John, NB, September 10, 1916, Helen was the daughter of the late Oscar John Dick and Ethel (Bannister) Dick. She had been a resident of Saint John and Crystal Beach and was an Anglican by faith, Helen was a former member of Trinity Anglican Church and St. Alban's Church. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Miriam (John) Kennedy of Quispamsis, Brenda (Winston) Goodwin of Grand Bay Westfield; two brothers, Hazen (Evelyn) Dick of Saint John, and Harold (Marion) Dick of Ontario; two sisters, Grace Turner of Dartmouth, NS and Winnifred Walsh of Saint John; one grand daughter, Jennifer Kennedy; and one great grandchild Isaiah Kennedy; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Kenneth, and Bartlett Dick. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
