SMITH, GRACE EVA - Grace Eva Smith passed peacefully to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at York Manor, surrounded by family and caring staff. Born in Geary, Sunbury Co., December 30, 1933, the cherished daughter of the late Wallace and Ada (Dillon) Smith. Grace grew up in Hoyt and was a member of the Blissville Baptist Church. After graduating from Sunbury West Regional High School she taught school for one year in Juvenile Settlement. She married Murray in 1954 and was a homemaker, moving to Fredericton in 1964 where she was an active member at Union Street and Devon Park Baptist Churches, a charter member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, a life member of the Women's Missionary Society and at the time of her death a member of Lincoln United Baptist Church. Survived by her children, Dr. Calvin Smith (Jan Lockhart), Rowena (Harold) Boone, David W. (Nadine) Smith, all of Fredericton and Charlene (Majid) Alavi of Thousand Oaks, CA, USA. Grandchildren Jesse (Erin) Smith, Amanda (Michael) Ashfield, Samantha Smith, Andrew (Sara) Boone, Joanna Boone, Melanie Smith, Janelle Smith, Bradley Smith, Shawn Alavi and Shannon Alavi. Brothers and sisters- in-law; Norma Smith, Fredericton; Clayton and Vera Smith, Grand Bay; Lydia Smith, Oromocto; Eva Smith, Toronto, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her beloved and devoted husband, Murray S. Smith, brother, Ralph W. Smith, brothers and sisters-in-law; Willard and Viola Kirkpatrick, Walter and Eileen Jeffrey, Bob Smith, Newton Smith. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Saturday, December 6th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 7th, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, York Foundation or charity of donor's choice.
