DORIS A. FURY

FURY, DORIS A. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris A. Fury on Dec. 5 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, after a very brief illness. Doris was born in Devon, N.B. in 1927. She was the daughter of Fred Graham and Hazel Campbell. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Bill & Jack, her sister Elynor Cunningham and her husband, Ken Fury. Doris is survived by her daughters Bonnie Hartt (Brian) of Halifax and Cheryl Fury (Andrew Miller) of Saint John, her adored grandsons, Kenneth and Jack Fury-Miller, her sister, Marguerite Rioux, her sister-in-law, Jeannine Graham and many members of the extended family. She was a dedicated athlete, especially competitive softball in her youth and an avid golfer in her later years. Doris was active in a number of clubs and causes during her lifetime. She was a member of the Girl Guides' Trefoil Guild, Catholic Women's League, and past president of the Boys & Girls Club of Fredericton. Doris had a long career working for the provincial government and Council of Maritime Premiers. Visitation is at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 8th, 7-9 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Parish on Wednesday, Dec. 10th at 12:00 noon with Rev. Gerald White as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery.
