TAIT, RONALD - It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald (Ronnie) Joseph Carl Tait announces his unexpected death on December 14, 2008, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. With courage and dignity he fought cancer which progressed rapidly in the last month. As he enters the kingdom of God, he will join his loving wife, Judy (Cyr) Tait, whom he lost suddenly on October 19, 2007. Together again, they will live on eternally in the loving hands of our Lord. Born June 7, 1935, Ronnie was one of five sons of the late William James Tait and Mary Mildred (Nairn) Simms. Ronnie's life was centered on his deep and abiding love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and family. At the age of 15, he developed a life long strong work ethic which later carried over to his employment at Irving Paper where he worked for 28 years until his retirement in 1997. A humble man, he asked nothing of others but gave of himself to neighbors in need, in an unassuming way. His favorite hobbies were reading, fishing trout, deep sea fishing with his late brother-in-law Derwin and traveling to his favorite haunt in New Hampshire when his daughters were young. He also loved cooking with wife Judy. He took great pride in the achievements of his daughters and their families. His dry humor always was a source of laughter for family and friends alike. A private person, he never complained, and was thankful for each day. As a beloved "Dad": he leaves to celebrate his life, his devoted daughters Carla Nice (Dale) and Terri lynn Miller (Andrew); as an adoring "Papa" his loving grandchildren Collin and Amanda Nice and Taylor Miller; brothers Gerald (Betty-Anne), Harold and Glen (Dawn); sister-in-law Betty Tait, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by eldest brother William. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday December 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann's Church, Glen Falls on Wednesday December 17, 2008 at 2 pm. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
