ETHEL THORBURN

THORBURN, ETHEL - Ethel (Enman) Thorburn of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Stanley R. Thorburn passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, after a lengthy stay at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Ethel was born on June 2, 1928 at North Enmore, PE to the late Walter and Mary (Ladner) Enman. She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie (Glenn) Cameron of Maquapit Lake, NB, Kim (Rick) Coumont of Surrey, BC; three sons, Ray (Jo-Ann) of Calgary, AB, Tom (Karen) of McAdam, NB and Steve (Debbie) of Fredericton, NB. Also mourning her loss are her 13 grandchildren, Rick Miles, Barb Estey, Kyle Cameron, Samantha Tol, Marnie and Randy Coumont, Andrew, Annie, Jill Thorburn, Michael and Erin Thorburn, Katie Thorburn and Jennifer Lockhart. She was "Nannie Gumdrops" to her eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Taylor, Jamie, Hailie, Julia, Emma, Irelynd and Malachi. Ethel is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ethel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by nine siblings, four sisters, Sue Buchanan, Irene McWilliams, Jessie Andrews, Myrtle Moore; three brothers, Burns, Edward, Victor, two infant siblings, Edward and Helen. Visitation will take place from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Saturday, January 3, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 2 pm with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital or to a charity of the donor's choice.
