LESTER JOHN DEVEAU

DEVEAU, LESTER JOHN - Unexpectedly, at his residence on February 17th, 2009, Mr. Lester John Deveau, husband of Mrs. Myrtle (Watson) Deveau of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Salmon River NS on May 30th, 1926, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Madeline (Doucett) Deveau. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his loving wife, Myrtle, he is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Beecher) Hawkins and Cheryl (Ronald) MacVicar both of Pennfield NB , two sons; Harold Deveau of Blacks Harbour NB and Roger (Kelly) Deveau of Pennfield, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, two sisters, Frances Deveau of Halifax NS and Margaret Trenholm of Saint John NB, one brother, Everett Deveau of Weymouth NS and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers; Wilfred, Herbert, Wallace, Bernard and Henry and one sister, Irene. Prior to his retirement, Lester worked as a Custodian at Blacks Harbour School for 29 years. He loved woodcrafts, carpentry work and enjoyed cooking. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour NB on Thursday at 12 noon with Father John Ighacho officiating. The interment will take place at the church cemetery in the spring.
