NADINE ANN MARIE ROGERS

ROGERS, NADINE ANN MARIE - The death of Nadine Rogers of West Chester Village, NS, wife of Malcolm Rogers occurred as the result of an accident on February 17th, 2009 in Hubbards, NS. She was born in Jamaica and lived in Ontario before moving to Hampton, NB, twenty years ago. Nadine resided in Nova Scotia the past year where she was Director of Performance and Talent Management for the Province of Nova Scotia. Nadine in her youth was a member of the Canadian National Track and Field Team representing Canada Internationally most notably at the World Juniors in Bulgaria and the Commonwealth Games in New Zealand. She was dedicated to Life Long Learning, earning her Bachelor of Arts from UNB with an Honours Thesis in Psychology, immediately followed by her Masters of Public Administration from Dalhousie University. She was an active member of the United Way, Relay for Life, Run for the Cure, and spent time as a committee member for the John Peters Humphrey Committee, the Hampton Alliance for Life Long Learning, the Hampton Piggs Peak Partnership dedicated to address issues of HIV/AIDS in Swaziland, and was a proud mentor for Big Brothers & Big Sisters' Stay in School Mentor Program, among other youth coaching and leadership contributions. Her most rewarding work was as a mother. She is survived by her husband, Malcolm; two daughters, Ashlie Spalding and Morgan Rogers; one sister and two brothers, and her beloved grandmother in Jamaica. She was pre-deceased by her infant son Christopher. She will be sadly missed by many dear friends from all walks of life. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Friday. The funeral will be held Saturday, 3:00 pm at Hampton United Church with Rev. Keith Lyons officiating. A reception will be held in the Church Hall following the service. A reception will also be held in West Chester Village for friends of Nadine and the Rogers family at 16 Bluenose Close West Chester Village on Thursday the 26th of Feburary from 6 to 9 pm, please call 273-2327 if you require directions.
