RUTH "AMBER" GILMORE
GILMORE, RUTH "AMBER" - The passing of Ruth "Amber" (Plant) Gilmore of McLeod Hill, NB, wife of Gordon Gilmore occurred on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 at Maine Medical Center, USA. Born on February 16th, 1954 in Perth Andover, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Getson) Plant. She was a member of Kingsley Baptist Church and enjoyed serving on the Social Action Committee. Amber's caring and giving spirit was seen everywhere she went, including the nursery at the church. Amber was a hair stylist for 30 plus years, most recently with Beyond Perfection Salon. She enjoyed travelling and loved her grandchildren. In addition to her chosen parents, Rev. Jack (Charlene) MacKenzie and husband, Gordon, Amber is survived by her son, Dana Gilmore (Holly Matson) of Medicine Hat, AB; granddaughters, Shaylen and Abagaile; sisters, Diane Plant, Cecelia (William) Shaw, Doreen Thomas, Linda (Dale) Foster, Ada Plant, Fay Cronkite, Vivian Fleet; brothers, Abe, John, David, Alan and Dale Plant, Stuart (Saundra) and Wayne (Shirley) MacKenzie; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Sharon (Alfred) Smith. Besides her parents, Amber was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret "Maggie" Gilmore. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, February 21st, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Kingsley Baptist Church, Kingsley, NB on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 at 3 pm with Pastor Chris Emery officiating and Rev. Jack MacKenzie assisting. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
