POWELL, HILDA EILEEN - The death of Hilda Eileen Powell of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Charles Powell, occurred on Monday, March 2nd, 2009 at the Kennebec Manor. Born in Newcastle Bridge, Queens County, NB on July 18th, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Hattie (McLellan) Rollins. Prior to her retirement, Hilda had been employed as Office Manager with Family Services, where she had been for 47 years. She was a very loving, kind person who always saw the good in everyone. She was a member of the Business and Professional Ladies Club, Full Gospel Assembly and was a former member of Bethany Pentecostal Church. She is survived by three sisters, Roberta Rice of Fredericton, NB, Marilyn (Walter) Rees of Saint John and Ruth (Marshall) Leavitt of St. George, NB; two brothers, Willard (MaryLou) of Renforth, NB and Terry (Ann) Rollins of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie in 1998; and two brothers, Howard and Paul Rollins. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424, with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, March 5th, 2009 at 1pm. Interment will be in Newcastle Bridge Cemetery.
