Born on April 3, 1919 in Plaster Rock, she was the daughter of John and Jennie Seymour. She was predeceased by her husband, George Brooks and one daughter, Dorothy Jeanne. Marion is survived by her seven children, John (Laura) Burlington, Ontario; Keith (Maria) El Paso, Texas; Marilyn Marcantonio, Moncton; Glenn (Carmella) Moncton; Arnold (Janice), Gladwyn, NB; Janet Brown (Jim) Four Falls, NB; Katharine Brooks (Roger) Nackawic, NB. Seventeen grandchildren: Brent and Derek Brooks, Lauren and Mark Brooks, Terilyn Williams, Keisha Pierce, Andrea and Mario Marcantonio, Ryan and Seaton Brooks, Sandra and Sherry Brooks, Jennifer Miller, Angela and Wesley Brown, Martin and Grace Bowmaster, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marion is also survived by her sister, Barbara Bird of Woodstock. Marion graduated from the Edmundston High School in 1938 and worked as Secretary for the Department of Lands and Mines in Fredericton until her marriage in 1940. Later, for a brief period, she was Secretary for Southern Victoria High School. She was most content being wife and mother and opening her home to relatives, friends and any travelling salesmen who would show up just at supper time. She loved to swim in the Tobique River and pick wild strawberries and raspberries. In the wintertime, she enjoyed telling stories of days gone by to her children, knitting mittens for them and making eggnog each evening after they would come from sliding. She passed the time making homemade bread, chocolate cake, butter and the days she make the donuts, she would time it just right so as to make french fries for her children as they came from the school bus. When the grandchildren came along, she enjoyed pretending she was the ice-cream lady. Playing the piano became a favourite pastime for her. Marion was a very spiritual lady and made sure her family went to church and Sunday school. She travelled extensively with her family and you could be sure, if you ever needed anything, Marion could provide it. She will be so missed by her children! Visitation will be at White's Funeral Home, Andover, (Exit 115 off TC) March 6th 2pm to 4pm; 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. James United Church, Andover, March 7th, 2pm.
