MITCHELL, GEORGE ALLEN - Unexpectedly at his residence at Stuart Town, Deer Island New Brunswick on March 3, 2009, Mr. George Allen Mitchell, beloved husband of Carmen J. (Lank) Mitchell. Born at Eastport Me. On November 19, 1925, he was a son of the late Judson and Alma (English) Mitchell. A loving husband, father and grandfather, George is survived by his wife Carmen, one son; Dale (Lois) Mitchell, One daughter; Jane Susan (Gary) Conley both of Stuart Town NB, four grandchildren; Drew (Mireille) Conley of Stuart Town, Stephanie (Shane) Borthwick of St. George NB, Abbie Mitchell of Stuart Town and Judson Mitchell (Fallon Miller) of Lords Cove NB, three great grandchildren; Rowan Borthwick, Cohen Mitchell and Sophia Conley and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. George was a self employed fisherman by trade. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting as well as fishing which was his life and his hobby. He was always active in both the local sardine and lobster fishery. He was a long time and very active member of the Lamberts Cove Baptist Church and made his family his life. Resting at the Lamberts Cove Baptist Church from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. In George's memory, donations may be made to the Lamberts Cove Baptist Church, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
