WILLIAM "BILL" GORDON THOMAS
THOMAS, WILLIAM "BILL" GORDON - With deepest regret the family of William "Bill" Gordon Thomas announces his passing on March 03, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born on February 04, 1944 in Grand Bank, Newfoundland. He worked for the Canadian Coast Guard until his retirement in 2008. He was an avid dart player, bowler, loved his Westerns and his hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs). He also belonged to the Adanac Association. He was the son of the late Charles and Olive Thomas. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda (McSorley) Thomas; three daughters, Barbara Wright (Chris), of Pocologan, NB Lisa Bouchie (Trevor), of Hampton, NB and Cherie Wills (Brian); brother, Isaac Thomas (Phyllis), of St. John's, NL; three sisters, Ethel Burfitt (Bill), of Grand Bank, NL, Eileen Bonnell (Garfield), of Toronto, Ont. and Emily May Bradley, Stephenville, NL; six grandchildren, Christina (Derek), Christopher, Michael, Jessica, Jonathan and Adrian; special brother-in-law, Jim May (Carole); special aunt, Dossie Evans; as well as, several nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Gordon and sisters, Hattie Chafe and Susie Rose. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Thursday, March 05, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, March 06, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 07, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Castle Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Center, following the interment.
