RANDALL, LINWOOD EBEN - It is with deep sadness the Family of Linwood Eben Randall announces his passing away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in Palliative Care at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Linwood was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Catherine (Tooke) Randall. Linwood is the loving husband of Judith Ann (Dorcas) Randall. Linwood was born in Fredericton, N.B. on April 11, 1935 and was 74 years of age. Linwood is survived by his loving wife Judith, his daughter Kimberley Randall, Toronto, Ont., two loving step-daughters; Wendy (Mark) Balemans, Oak Point, and Alisa (Leigh Christie) Cole, Quispamsis, and loving step-son Dwayne (Amy) Dorcas, Hamilton, Ont., and son-in-law David (Lesley Sullivan) Cole, Red Head, N.B. A devoted loving grandfather to Lindsay Ann Cole, Cohen Cole, Luke Balemans, Ashley and Devan Dorcas, Jessie and Amanda Randall. Linwood will also be greatly missed by his loving sisters; Madelon (Willard) Gillespie, Harvey, N.B., Wanda (Raleigh) Belyea, Lower Greenwich, N.B., Marian (the late Garry) MacDonald, Belleville, Ont., Valerie (the late Paul) Dearman, Burton, Ont., and Mary Ellen (the late Reed) Christie, Harvey, N.B., and loving brothers; Michael (Sandra) Randall, Oshawa, Ont., and John Wayne (Valerie Doucet) Randall, Saint John West, N.B. brothers-in-law; Brian (Patty) Dorcas, Lower Greenwich, Alan (Betty) Dorcas, B.C., David (Linda) Ganong, Quispamsis, Donnie (Tara) Ganong, Halifax, and Wayne Ganong, Grand Bay - Westfield. Besides his parents, Linwood was also predeceased by an infant brother Cyril, Herbert James Randall, Saint John, and half-sister Veronica (Randall) Michaud, Montreal, P.Q., and brothers-in-law Garry MacDonald, Paul Dearman and Reed Christie. Linwood will be greatly missed by all his loving nieces and nephews, his great nieces and nephews, his aunts and uncles, all his relatives and many dear friends. Linwood will also be greatly missed by a true friend and fishing buddy Bill (Lola) Brown, uncle Cedric Dorcas and Billy Balemans and his Texas Holdem buddies. Linwood was employed with the Port of Saint John for 35 years and the summer port in Toronto for 10 years. Linwood retired from the Port in 2000. He worked at Parkway Mercury and was the top salesman for a few years as well. Linwood was a member of RCL Branch #69 and a longtime member of the Adanac Club. Linwood attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church and St. Rose of Lima Church. Linwood and grand-daughter Lindsay were avid race fans and they attended all the races at the Speedway in Geary, N.B. Linwood was proud of his nephew Brian Gillespie of Nacawick who won many championships at the Speedway. Beloved grand-daughter Lindsay, Papa will always be at your side and watching over you. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). Visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church by Rev. Fr. Donald Breen. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre immediately following service.
