HOLDER, MURIEL VIOLA (LACEY) - NOVEMBER 8, 1913 - MARCH 12, 2009 - The death of Muriel Viola (Lacey) Holder, wife of the late Gerald M Holder, occurred at the Oromocto Hospital on March 12, 2009. Born in Fredericton, November 8, 1913; daughter of the late George S. and Maude (MacLean) Lacey. She was a long time resident of Queenstown, NB; and took over as Post Mistress in Queenstown, from her mother, from 1960 and until 1970 when the post office was closed; she was a member of Queenstown United Baptist Church and served as organist for over 60 years; she was also a life member of the New Brunswick Women's Institute and the oldest member of the Queenstown WI; life member of the United Baptist Missionary Society. She is survived by her son, John (Peggy) of Edmonton, AB; granddaughters Nancy (Brian) Matthews, Christina Lake, BC and Joanne (Kim) Torrance of Edmonton, AB; grandson David of Richmond, BC; great granddaughter Samantha; great grandsons, Joshua, Jeremy, Dustin, Andrew and Alex, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Myrtle Holder and brother, Wendell Lacey. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St, Oromocto, NB, on Wednesday March 18, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 2 pm. Pastor Jim McLellan officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
