On February 5th, 2009 Laura, formerly of Paddockwood passed away peacefully at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert at the age of 88. Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory, her daughter Grace (Glen) Rayner of Choiceland, SK; her son Neil (Lorette) Robertshaw of Prince Albert, SK; her daughter, Marilyn (Jim) Chamberlin of Saskatoon, SK; along with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving, her sisters Florence Robertshaw of Calgary and Margaret Robertson of Green Acres; her brother Dan (Joyce ) Henderson of Airdrie and sisters-in-law Hazel Henderson of Paddockwood and Muriel Robertshaw of Victoria, BC; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Lester Austin of Paddockwood. Laura was predeceased by her parents; her husband Jack; brothers Lewis, Alec and Sam; brothers-in-law Tom Robertshaw, Bob Robertson, Bill Robertshaw and Bob Duke; sisters-in-law Beatrice Duke and Emily Henderson and grandson Terry Rayner. Laura was born at Paddockwood on November 14th, 1920 to Kathleen and Neil Henderson, the third of seven children. Mom was never happier than when she was out doing chores or working in her garden among her flowers. She took many red ribbons with her flowers, vegetables and baking at the Paddockwood Homemaker's Fair. She thoroughly enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends and we all have such wonderful memories of our Sundays at the farm where you would find Mom batting out flies for a game of 500 or putting on her skates at the age of 68 for a spin on the slough and then everyone enjoying a wonderful supper of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and prize winning apple pie. Thanks for all the wonderful, wonderful memories Mom. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
