MCCARTHY, LOIS - At Hotel Dieu of Saint Joseph Hospital, Perth-Andover, March 22, 2009, Mrs. Lois (Eccleston) McCarthy, wife of Gerald McCarthy of Grand Falls (Portage), passed away at the age of 54 years. Born at Saint John in 1954, she was a daughter of Bernadette (Christensen) and the late Frank Eccleston. Mrs. McCarthy was an LPN working at Hotel-Dieu Hospital for several years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother of Plaster Rock, three sons, Chad (Monique) of Ottawa, Brock and Kyle of Halifax, one brother, Peter Eccleston (Marcelle) of New Denmark, four sisters, Marie Harding of Fredericton, Brenda Giberson of Grand Falls, Grace Harris (Chris) of Woodstock and Betty Parsons (David) of McLaughlin Road, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and a sister, Julia. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26th at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls (Portage), with Father Gilbert Doddatto officiating.
