CAVAN, MARGARET "RITA" - The death of Margaret "Rita" Cavan occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday March 24, 2009 at her residence. Born 1951 in Dunbarden Scotland she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret (McTaggartt) Cavan. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Lester Tate and brother Stephan Cavan. Rita will be sadly missed by her son Jason Tate (Ann Tobias); daughter Tanya Dawson (Mike); grandchild Tatem; brother Hugh Cavan and Gerard Cavan; sisters Monica Cavan, Maureen Reid, Anne Cliché (Bill), Joan Craft (Robert) and Theresa Cavan; boyfriend Cary Brown; best friend Michelle Mahaney; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Friday March 27, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday April 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Mental Health or to the charity of the donor's choice.
