PHILLIP KENDERDINE BAMFORD

BAMFORD, PHILLIP KENDERDINE - Passed away on Thursday, April 2nd, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 7th, 1915, he was the son of the late Harry and Mabel (Benner) Bamford. He spent most of his life in Saint John and was an active member in the St. George's Society, Air Force Society and the Royal Canadian Legion. He served as a pilot in the Air Force during World War II. Phillip loved to sail and was a member of the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club. He would sail the Saint John River, the Kennebecasis River and at the Harbour Race. He is survived by his loving wife Erie Bamford; sister, Anne Starr and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Richard and John; sister, Audrey Irvine; step-mother, Sarah Jane Bamford; brother, Richard (Dick) and brother-in-laws, E.E. "Tommy" Starr and Gilbert Irvine Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Sunday, April 5th, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 6th, 2009 at 2:00 pm from St. Jude's Anglican Church. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Donations, in memory of Phillip, may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor's choice.
