
ALICE MARIE RAYMONT
RAYMONT, ALICE MARIE - Alice Marie Raymont died peacefully on Easter Monday April 13, 2009 at the Charlotte County Hospital in St. Stephen, NB in the company of her daughter and son-in-law. Born March 29, 1935, she was the youngest daughter of the late Wallace and Louise Hyslop of Tower Hill, NB. Alice is survived by her husband, Frank, daughter; Barbara, son; Bruce, son-in-law; Howie, daughter-in-law; Allison and grandson; Blake. She is also survived by her four sisters: Miriam Murray, Eva MacLeod, Jean Christie and Christine Wilson as well as several nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. She also had a wealth of friends both in Ontario and New Brunswick. Alice, a retired school teacher, spent most of her career in Hamilton where she and husband Frank raised their family. Retiring in 1989, they returned to the family farm on Tower Hill where she was an active member of the community through Women's Institute, United Church Women, Royal Canadian Legion and Jr. Ladies Auxiliary. Alice also enjoyed quilting and crafts as well as spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Oak Bay. Alice had a special charm and with that embraced everyone she met. Most will remember her sense of humour that made it easy to care for her during her final days, easy to love her during her full and wonderful life and easy to remember her as a warm, fun-loving woman and friend. Resting at the S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB from where funeral service will be held on Friday April 17, 2009 at 2 PM. Interment at Moores Mills Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. St. Stephen Branch #9 Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a tribute service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Moores Mills Rural Cemetery or charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
