STACK, FRANCIS PARNELL - passed away peacefully on Sunday April 19, 2009 at his residence the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Hampton. Born 1913 in Fairvale, NB he was the son of the late Thomas and Martha (Lane) Stack. Parnell worked for NB Tel for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, H.M.C.S. BRUNSWICKER Naval Reserve, NB Lodge # 22 F & A.M. He was an original member of St. Mary's Church, Waterloo Street, served on vestry for St. Paul's Anglican Church Rothesay and a was a member of St. Mary and St. Bartholomew's Church. Parnell was a true gentleman who quietly worked to the betterment of his community. He was an avid sportsman himself especially in Track and Field and Speed Skating, and lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mary (Case) Stack in 1981. He is survived by his loving daughter Marianna Stack of Saint John; grandchildren Deirdre Wade Q.C. (Paul Smith) of Rothesay and Janice Stockall (Father Kevin Stockall) of Sackville, NB; great grandchildren Charles Smith (Chip) of Rothesay and Elizabeth and Catherine Stockall of Sackville, NB; sister-in-law Mrs. Helen Case (Hollis) of Saint John; several nieces and nephews, and many friends and special caregivers at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. Mary St. Bartholomew's Church on Thursday April 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
