HAYWARD, EVELYN C. - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Carolyn (Earle) Hayward announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 24th, 2009 after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Merrick) Earle. Mrs. Hayward was a resident of Saint John West all of her life. She worked at the K Mart in the Lancaster Mall for a number of years where she made many friends. In her younger years she enjoyed playing ball, and in her later years it was a delight for her to watch her nieces and nephews being active in sports. In addition to her husband Colin, she is survived by a sister Carmelita (Alvin) McKinley, brother Leslie (Elaine) Earle, brother-in-law Harry Sullivan. She was also a special aunt to her nieces and nephews Wanda (Bob) Belliveau, Brenda, and Karen Sullivan, nephews Daryl and Jeffrey Earle, several great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Helen Sullivan, nephew Derrick McKinley, and great nephew Brandon McKinkley. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). Visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Fallsview Chapel on Monday at 11 am. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Immediately following the service, a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn's memory can be made to the West Side Food Bank or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
