Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the John Noble Home Brantford, Ontario, on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the age of 80. Loving husband of Gerri for 60 years. Beloved father of Allan (Patti), Gary (Sandy), Debbie (Steve Kewin), Noreen (Randy Novak) and Paula (Jim Turkiewicz). Much loved Grampie of Sean (Jennifer), Joy, Jan-Michael, Mandy (Colin Blackwood), Tyson (Mia), Nathan, Stephanie, Danielle (Jeff Baxter), Elyse, Shea, Cody, Connor, Dylan, Karleigh (Paul Petrella), Keaton and Traynor. Great-Grampie of Michaela, Quinntin, Isabella and Carson. He is survived by his sisters, Beryl Lawless and Doreen McCormick and by his brother, James. Walter is predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Ralph and Joe and by his parents, Frank and Mildred. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family members and friends. Walter founded the Dorsey Group in 1957 and worked until his retirement in 1994. He continues to take great joy in the family run business. A heartfelt thank you to the loving and caring staff of Grand Terrace at the John Noble Home. Friends will be received at the Dennis Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, Ontario, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow. Donations may be made in Walter\'s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Loyola Jesuit House, Guelph.
