SMITH, MARION KATHLEEN - Marion Kathleen Smith, 81, of Dartmouth, NS formerly from Saint John, NB, passed away April 21, 2009 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in St. Martin's, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Gamble) Love. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Kathleen, son-in-law Jim, and granddaughter, Sara of Dartmouth, NS. Marion worked for Beck's Dry Cleaning and the Metropolitan Store for many years. She loved bowling and playing Skip Bo and loving her favourite furry friend "Molly." Marion had a strong faith in the Lord and relied on His help and strength even during her illness. Besides her daughter, Kathleen, son-in-law Jim and granddaughter, Sara, Marion is survived by her sister, Marguerite (Lewis) Bland of Saint John, NB; sisters-in-law, Elsie Lawson, Quispamsis, NB, Doreen Love, Ontario, Doreen Porter, Amherst, NS, and Lillian Love, Saint John, NB; brother-in-law, Lloyd Smith (Germaine), several nieces and nephews and her best friend of many years, Ann Ferris. She was predeceased by her husband, Earle Smith, and brothers, Murray and Stuart. Visitation will be held at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John (506-634-1701) on Monday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with the funeral service being held at the Fallsview Chapel on Tuesday, April 28, at 11 a.m. Rev. John Cheyne and Rev. Sheila MacDonald officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Burial will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church in Halifax at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., the Canadian Cancer Society, or to any charity.
