EDNA PAULINE MARGARET VAIL

VAIL, EDNA PAULINE MARGARET - Edna P. M. Vail, formerly of Brockway, NB, passed away May 4, 2009 at Lincourt Manor in St. Stephen. Edna was born in Timmins, Ontario on April 16, 1931, a daughter of the late Osmond and Annie (James) Martin. For a number of years Edna was employed as a reeler at Briggs and Little Woollen Mill. Edna was an honorary member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Unity Chapter. Throughout her years, Edna touched the lives of many people with her musical gifts and wonderful sense of humor. During her time at Lincourt Manor she enjoyed playing with the Guitar Club and will be missed greatly for the love and light she shared with all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Anne Stinson (Dr. Gordon), Malawi, Africa Ian Briggs, St. Stephen, NB and Dale Briggs (Ena), Harvey Station, NB; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Goldie Martin (Muriel), Tweedside, NB and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Briggs, Beaverton, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas Briggs, her second husband, Frank Vail, a son, Tommy Briggs, a sister, Evelyn Thompson and six brothers, Ulsford, Donald, Lawrence, Pearley, Edmond and Raymond Martin. Visiting hours were held at Swan Funeral Home, Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412 Highway 3, Harvey Station on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment will be in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted Brockway, Roy Brockway, Larry Cleghorn, Randy Martin, Paul Martin and Peter Martin.
