DEMERCHANT, MARINA LAURA - (July 5, 1935 - May 10, 2009) - The passing of Marina DeMerchant of Tobique Narrows, NB occurred on May 10, 2009 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 73. Born in Debec, NB she was the daughter of the late Suther and Hazel (Wood) O'Regan. Marina is survived by her husband Peter DeMerchant; four daughters Carlene (Gregory) Underhill of Bath; Karen (Gaylen) Sullivan and Kathy (Darryl) Swazey of Four Falls and Tammie (Dana Jr.) Wright of Kilburn; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother Robert (Lynda) O'Regan of Riley Brook. Predeceased by her parents, brother Murray and sister Carlene. Marina had a zest for life. She was whitty, crafty and always loved to pass on her skills to others. She was photogenic because she always loved to have her picture taken. Marina taught school for 20 years and during that time she had a mental math class that she taught at school and then when she came home she taught it to her kids and then on to her grandkids. After retiring from teaching she run the Craft Cabin for several years. She loved her grandkids and really enjoyed babies. Marina was Past Matron of the Eastern Star and formed the Rainbow Girls. She will be missed by her loving husband, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother and all friends who knew her. Resting at White's Funeral Home, Perth-Andover with visiting hours on Tuesday May 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 13th at 2 pm from White's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Helene Burns officiating.
