MARGARET ELIZABETH "MOLLY" (NEE WARNER) MACKAY
MACKAY, MARGARET ELIZABETH "MOLLY" (NEE WARNER) - passed away on April 25th in her 89th year at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, Ontario. Beloved wife of 67 years to the late Bill Mackay. Margaret "Molly" was born to Carlton Griffin Warner and Margaret "Billie" Powis living at the time in Hamilton Ontario. She was raised in the Hamilton area with her sister Deidre who has predeceased her. During her life path Molly met and was courted by William "Bill" Mackay, later marrying in November of 1941. Molly and Bill raised their family of four children in what was originally named the Belleview Hotel but was known locally as "Bircholme" in New Brunswick. It was a wonderful home and kept Molly and Bill busy and happy for many years until with the children grown, and the yearn to travel, Bill and Molly sold this home in 1978 to begin a time of relaxation and pleasure. Molly and Bill built a smaller home in Rothesay, wintered on Sanibel Island, Florida and took a major trip to different parts of the world each year for the next 15 years. In 1994, Molly and Bill moved to Cobourg to be closer to their children and grand-children. Sadly Molly's cherished life partner Bill passed away in 2008. Molly bravely journeyed on, passing with dignity and her family by her side. She will be greatly missed by her four children Reay (Lynda), Sondy (Michael), Bruce (Joanne) and Margaux, her six grand-children and six great grand-children. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, N.B. on Friday, June 5th, 2009 at 10:30 am with a reception to follow at Shadow Lawn.
