MCHUGH, NORMAN CLARENCE - The death of Norman Clarence McHugh occurred on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born February 15, 1930 in Saint John he was the son of the late Hugh Thomas and Gladys (Brown). Norman worked as a licensed mechanic in various locations in the city; in his retirement years he drove taxi for various companies. Surviving are sons Norman (Georgette) of Saint John; Brian, Edmonton AB; daughters Brenda (Robert) Bonner of Saint John; Kathleen McHugh of Saint John; Nancy Steele (Hamilton) and Larry Steele of Willow Grove; a sister Irene Christenson of Calgary AB; Donna Blanchard of Quispamsis; sisters-in-laws Lois McHugh and Mildred Farris; cherished grandchildren Curtis and Andrew Green, Kelly York; Kendra, Nick, Matthew Bonner; Justin and Kody Hamilton; Allison McHugh; Ashley and Rebecca McHugh; four great grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Norman was predeceased by his wife Mary Connell; a daughter Suzanne Green; brothers Edward, Ronald and Raymond; sisters Shirley McHugh and Greta Whiteneck. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday May 21, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Friday May 22, 2009 at 10 a.m. With private interment at a later time in Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
