EDITH RUTH "EDIE" MUZZERALL
MUZZERALL, EDITH RUTH "EDIE" - The death of Edith Muzzerall of West Saint John occurred at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton on May 27, 2009. She was born in Saint John on May 1, 1921 to the late Douglas and Lucy (Hughes) Barton. Edith worked as a grocery clerk on the West Side in her younger years. After her marriage she lived in South Bay and then Westfield for many years caring for her father. In her later years she moved back to Saint John and then lived and was cared for by the staff of Kennebec Manor. Here, she had a dear friend, Dorothy, the Activity Director. In 2008 she moved to W.G. Bishop Nursing Home Ltd., Minto. Even though she always proclaimed "There is nothing like the good old West Side" Edie fit in at the Bishop home receiving excellent care and lots of love. Edie particularly liked singing hymns with the staff and the entertainers at the home. These people gave her much joy. (She knew the words to every hymn her favourite was "What a Friend we have in Jesus") Katleyn Farrell always made her feel special telling Edie she sang like a 20 year old. Edith is survived by nieces and nephews: Brenda, Nancy, Dale (Paulette) Barton and Families-Chipman; Cumberland Bay; Valerie Johnston (Earl) and family-Bayswater; Rosalynne (Bill) Hovey and family-Hampton and several great nieces and nephews.
