NORMAN ALMON
ALMON, NORMAN - The death of Norman Almon, occurred on Wednesday May 27, 2009 at The Saint John Regional Hospital with his loving wife Ruby by his side. Born 1938 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Harold and Leona (McCormick) Almon. Norman worked as a Ferry Operator at Gondola Point for 23 years. In his early years Norman enjoyed hockey and bowling and he later enjoyed fiddle music, bonfires and spending time with his best friends Bob, Joe and Max at Tim Horton's. Norman is survived by three sons Norman "Turk" (Natasha) Almon of Oromocto, Donnie Almon of Saint John and Daniel (Michelle) Almon of Oromocto, daughters Barbara Almon of Ontario and Linda O'Neill of Saint John; step-sons Michael (Nicole) Hebert of Saint John and Jeffrey Hebert of Calgary; one granddaughter Angelina, step-grandchildren Anissa, Ciara, Audrey Rose and Damon; several cousins, nieces and nephews and one special nephew Eric Almon. Besides his parents and wife Sheila, Norman was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Donald Almon and grandchildren Danielle Faith and Faith Louise. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held from Forest Hills Baptist Church on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 2p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
