GIROUARD, MARY L.M. - The death of Mary Louise Melita Girouard (Thibodeau) of West Saint John occurred June 1, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. Mary was born in Saint John on December 4, 1959, the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Melita M. (DesRoches) Thibodeau. She is survived by three brothers Douglas, David (Margaret), Joseph "Joe" (Nan) Thibodeau, one sister Susan (Jim) Hope of Saint John, her great-uncle Louis E. DesRoches of New Hampshire, U.S.A., her brother-in-law Donald Fillmore of Rothesay, NB, and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her dear friend Kelly Wilson of West Saint John and her two daughters Amber and Mary's TV "snuggle buddy" Raven. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Eugene Louis (Buddy) Thibodeau (1964) and her sister Patricia Elaine Fillmore (1997). In keeping with Mary's wishes, her body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical School in Nova Scotia. There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road on Friday June 5 at 12 Noon.
