MERRILL, SCOTT ANDREW - Scott Andrew Merrill, and his father Leonard Albert Merrill, both of Saint John, N.B. passed away, unexpectedly, in Springfield, Illinois on Sunday, June 7, 2009, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born on April 19, 1977, in Saint John, Scott was the son of Leonard and Marilyn (Burnett) Merrill. Scott worked at Chandler Sales prior to his relocating to Phoenix. He was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church, member of Weight Watchers and was proud to achieve his goal. He worked with the Saint John Sea Dogs Junior Hockey Team. Scott belonged to the Running Room and taking part in the Tim Hortons Camp Day Run. He also enjoyed Scuba Diving and Geo Cashing. Scott was a loving son, husband, father and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine (Katie) Pendell - Merrill, son Matthew Pendell, sister, Krista, of Saint John; father and mother-In-laws, Jay and Bernie Pendell, Phoenix, Arizona; sister-In-Laws, Marcia (Trent) Veitch, Christine Schumaker, Ashley Pendell and Emily Pendell, all of Phoenix, Arizona. Scott was predeceased by his father Leonard Albert Merrill. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The funeral service for Scott and his father Leonard will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, from Hillcrest Baptist Church, Saint John West. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Extension.
