KORTAS, WIKTOR "VICTOR" - Wiktor Kortas of Champlain Heights passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday June 19, 2009. Born 1932 in Poland to the late Zygmunt and Lucia (Ribak) Kortas. Vic immigrated to Canada in the 70's; he worked for Atlantic Towing, retiring in the 80's. Wiktor is survived by his loving wife Janie (O'Brien) Kortas of Champlain Heights; step-children Michael O'Brien (Diane) of Grand Bay- Westfield and Joan Lothman of Saint John; four grandchildren Samantha, Danielle, Christine and Jay. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by stepson Eddie O'Brien. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). Memorial mass will be held from St. Joachim's Catholic Church, 603 Loch Lomond Rd. on Tuesday June 23rd, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Private family interment to take place in Poland at a later date.
