HAINES, CLARA HOLMES - The passing of Clara Holmes (Doak) Haines, wife of the late Elton Haines, occurred on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 2, 1924 in Doaktown, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Lizzie (Holmes) Doak. Clara was a member of Word of Faith Church, Maugerville, NB. She was a very strong Christian who was very active in her church and devoted to her family. Clara is survived by two sons, Larry of Island View, NB and Brian (Barb) of Fredericton, NB; sister, Laura Savage (Ken) of Marysville, NB; sister-in-law, Mabel Doak of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Doak and Edith Doak; two brothers, Harold and Arden Doak. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Word of Faith Church, Maugerville, NB on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 1 pm with Pastor Gary Bitely officiating. Interment will take place at Burtt's Corner Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
