HANSEN, HELEN E. - Unexpectedly, at the Edmundston Regional Hospital, June 25, 2009, Mrs. Helen E. Hansen of New Denmark passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years. She was the wife of the late Halley D. Hansen. Born at New Denmark in 1932, she was a daughter of the late Fred S. and Christina (Michaud) Petersen. She is survived by five children, Judy (Gary McCarthy) of Hamilton, Ontario, Andrew (Anita) Hansen of Calgary, Alberta, Susan Hansen of Grand Falls, Amos (friend Ginette) Hansen of New Denmark and Valerie Hansen of Surrey, BC; grandchildren, Darcy and Tracy McCarthy of Hamilton, Ontario, Jeremy and Melanie Hansen of Quebec, Joni (Paul) Michaud of Toronto; great grandchildren, Carissa, Carson, Bayanka, Ace and Aiden; sisters, Laurel Christensen and Lerene "Bunny" Taylor of New Denmark, Jayne (Charlie) Smith of Oromocto, Leona Hamilton and Nancy Dow of Fredericton; brothers, Raymar and Wayne of Fredericton, Harley (Penny) of New Denmark; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1987, sisters, Alice, Margaret and Pauline and brother, Fred Junior. A committal service will be held Friday, July 24th at 2 p.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, New Denmark with Pastor David Knudson officiating. For those who wish, donations to the I.W.K.
