BECKETT, GLADYS (EKSTROM) - Age 82. Taken by the angels after quietly slipping away at home on July 29, 2009. Predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Brien (1994). Treasured mother of Barbara and Brien (Terry). Grandmother of three; great grandmother of 13 and great great grandma of one. Survived and greatly missed by brothers Gerry (Thelma), Ken (Leona) and Ray (Louise), sister Val Gauci (Charlie), sisters-in-law Norma Beckett and Miriam Bowden. Mom was a creative, talented and loving woman who will be sadly missed by all the "girls" from the Metropole and Top Hat, and the ceramic classes she taught. She will be sadly missed by friends Emily, Helen, Sue & Jim, Donna Mae and many, many others. Cremation has already taken place and no service will be held in honour of Mom's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society or the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to the ladies of St. Elizabeth's, Hospice and CCAC for all the kind, loving and gentle care they gave Mom, helping us through this incredibly difficult time. A special heart-felt thank you to Emily for your kind and compassionate understanding.
