RETA LOUISE ALWARD
ALWARD, RETA LOUISE - 88, of Spencer Memorial Home Moncton and formerly Havelock passed away Sunday August 2, 2009 at the home with her daughter at her side. Born December 25, 1920 in Sussex she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Lydia (Kilpatrick) McFarlane and her late step-father Roy Neill. A graduate of the Sussex High School she was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Havelock and the A.C.W. of the church. She was also a member of the former Gloria Chapter, O.E.S., the Butternut Ridge Senior Citizen's Club, the Lower Ridge Women's Institute and the Havelock Legion Auxillary. Survived by her daughter Deanna Johnston of Wolfville N.S., daughter in law Fern Alward, Lower Ridge; cherished grandchildren Danny Alward, Shawn Christianson (Michelle), Carla Urquhart (Stuart); great grandchildren Christopher (Amber), Nicole (Shawn), Abby, Victoria, Logan and great great grandson Michael. Survived also by her brother Rev. Lloyd McFarlane of Sussex; step children Carole Gillies, Ardith Colpitts and Brent Alward and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Maynard Alward; second husband A. Roy Alward; daughter Delores; son Carl and brother Donald McFarlane. The Funeral will be held from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Havelock on Wednesday August 5 at 3 p.m. Private family visitation only. Interment at the Loyalist Cemetery, Havelock.
