ROGERS, JAMES D. - The death of James D. Rogers, loving husband of Dorothy Rogers, occurred peacefully surrounded by his family, at his residence on Thursday, August 6th, 2009. Born 1936 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rosella (Rose) (Robichaud) Rogers. James worked as a Crane Operator for Stelco, Hilton Works, Hamilton, Ontario for 35 years. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers John (Jack) Rogers and Robert (Bob) Rogers. In addition to his loving wife Dorothy of 45 years, he is survived by his daughters Amy Rogers and granddaughter Lily of Saint John, and Julie Rogers and grandchildren James and Jennifer of Edmonton, AB; brother Charles Rogers (Leona) of London, ON; sisters Shirley Wright (Reg) of Summerville, Rose Marie Koula of Harrington, PQ and Cathy Manuel (Cindy Savoie) of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Saturday August 8th, 2009 at 3 pm with visitations from 11 am to 2:45 pm. A private family interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
