HIGGINS, PIERRETTE MARIE - The death of Pierrette Marie Higgins of Saint John,N.B., wife of Dr.R.Brian Higgins, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday August 7, 2009. Pierrette was born in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, a daughter of the late Henri and Noemie (Morin) Duval, and had resided in Saint John since 1958. She was educated at College de Jesus et Marie, Sillery, Quebec; Brescia Hall, University of Western Ontario; and at Laval University, Quebec City. She was a long time member of Bridge Club, and the Cathedral Catholic Women's League. She enjoyed her family, and travel with her husband. She was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Pelletier. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, E.Michael (Tracey Thomas) of Regina, Saskatchewan, H.David (Christina) of Rothesay, R.Brian (Fiona) of Saint John, and Peter J. (Gisele) of Grand Bay- Westfield; one daughter, Susan (Michael) Sinstadt of Nanaimo, B.C.; one sister, Gisele Belzile of Quebec City; twelve grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
